Annual Report 2008 / Perspective and Action Plan for 2009
(May 2009) The Minister for Gender Equality has published the Annual Report 2008 over the achievements in 2008 and the Action Plan 2009 with the future initiatives on Gender Equality.

CEDAW: 7th Periodic Report by the Government of Denmark
(May 2008) Denmark has submitted its 7th CEDAW report for consideration of the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women.

The report is produced by a range of Ministries. The authorities of Greenland and the Faroe Islands have produced théir own reports and 3 NGOs have commented on the Danish report. These are attached as annexes to the official report.

The 7th periodic report gives a thorough description of activities and status of the national gender equality work for the period of 2004-2008 regarding the articles covered by the Convention - Political, social, cultural and economic issues.

Men's Violence against Women: Reports on national statistics (2004 & 2007)
(November 2007) In 2004 and again in 2007 the Minister for Gender Equality was happy to present reports with data and statistics on the extent and the characteristics of men's violence against women. The reports are based on different sources of information, mainly The National Health Survey from 2000 and 2005, The Danish National Patient Register and the Criminal Statstics.

The Danish Inter-Ministerial Gender Mainstreaming Project, Action Plan 2007-2011
The Government wishes to create equal opportunities for women and men.
The goal is for women and men to be considered equal and that they are granted the
same opportunities to choose the life they want. The Government wants to ensure that
diversity and individual freedom are respected.

Annual Report 2006 / Perspective and Action Plan for 2007
The Minister for Gender Equality has published the Annual Report 2006 over the achievements in 2006 and the Action Plan 2007 with the future initiatives on Gender Equality.

Three goals will be at the top of the agenda for 2007:
• Women and men must be able to make equal and free choices throughout life.
• Everyone should have the opportunity to contribute with his or her multifaceted talents.
• Violence and human trafficking must be combated using all means at our disposal.

Action Plan to Combat Trafficking in Human beings 2007–2010
With this action plan, the Danish Government—in collaboration with the political parties behind the “rate adjustment pool scheme” (“satspulje”)—will continue combating human trafficking to reduce the number of persons trafficked to Denmark.

Facts on Gender Equality 2006
A new pamphlet gives the newest statistical facts on Gender Equality in Denmark anno 2006.
The objective of “Facts about Gender Equality in Denmark 2006” is to promote and encourage more qualified debate in the field of gender equality.

Statement following the Roundtable Conference on the Social Aspects og trafficking 31 October 2006
On 31 October 2006 the Ministers for Social Affairs in the Nordic Countries and the Baltic Sea Countries met to discuss the social aspects of trafficking.

Annual Report 2005 / Action Plan 2006
Equal opportunities - a richer Denmark
The Minister for Gender Equality has published the Annual Report 2005 over the achievements in 2005 and the Action Plan 2006 with the future initiatives on Gender Equality.

Under the headline "Equal opportunities - a richer Denmark" the Government finds that gender equality between women and men enriches Denmark as a society, both economically and culturally.

Brochure on equality and rights for women from ethnic minorities
Many women from ethnic minorities lack sufficient knowledge and information on their rights as women in Denmark. On this background the Minister for Gender Equality has published a brochure for the women and men, who would like to know more about gender equality and rights in Denmark.

The brochure is published in 8 languages (Danish, English, Somali, Serbian-Croatian, Turkish, Farsi, Urdu and Arabic.)

Action plan to stop men’s domestic violence against women and children 2005-2008
The 20 April 2005 Minister for Social Affairs and Gender Equality, Eva Kjer Hansen, launched a new four year action plan to stop men’s domestic violence against women and children. The Government has earmarked DDK 64 million for the activities in the coming four years.

National Action Plan to combat modern slavery
Minister for Social Affairs and Gender Equality, ms. Henriette Kjaer, will Monday 2 December launch the “Government’s Action Plan to combat Trafficking in Women”. Simultaneously the Danish activities as part of the Nordic-Baltic Campaign against Trafficking in Women will begin.
